Women’s Shelters Canada’s 2018 National Conference will take place at the University of Ottawa and the Shaw Centre, in downtown Ottawa, Ontario. Rooms are available on the University of Ottawa campus, and we’ve secured special rates for conference participants at three hotels in the area.

By Air

The Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport is located 10.2 km south of downtown Ottawa. Taxi service at the airport is available; the average cost to take a taxi downtown is $34and takes about 20 minutes.

Hotels may offer shuttles from the airport. OC Transpo also offers the 97 bus from the airport into downtown, with a cost of $3.40 per trip in cash, or $3.35 with a Presto card. All buses in Ottawa are accessible, but riders with disabilities can also contact Para Transpo ahead of time if additional service is required.

By Road

Ottawa is located a five-hour drive northeast of Toronto and two hours west of Montreal(depending on traffic and where your departure point is).

Ottawa Central Station is the main inter-city bus terminus in Ottawa. Located at 265 Catherine Street, it is accessible by taxis, OC Transpo, or a 30-45 minute walk to the University of Ottawa and nearby hotels.

By Train

The Ottawa Train Station is serviced by Via Rail and is located a 10 minute drive from the University of Ottawa. Buses and taxis are available at the station.
